As our readalongs evolve, we are always looking for ways to heighten immersivity. We have run multiple โSide Questsโ; interactive elements of a campaign that are either virtual or in person activities that help to heighten the in-world activity of the campaign.
New-To-Audio Listenalong: Three Sisters
At Tandem we are passionate about creating opportunities for our community to consume meaningful content in a variety of formats. We are putting all of our efforts into marketing audiobooks, given their potential for reaching global audiences and the accessibility it enables. We know that publishers face the challenge of limited budgets when it comes to marketing audiobooks, but we know from our engaged audiobook community that the demand is there and new audiences are waiting to be tapped into.
Children's / Middle Grade / Teachalongs
Did you know? Here at Tandem, we arenโt just crazy about the thrilling fiction and eye-opening non-fiction offered by the adult sector, we also have a soft spot for childrenโs publishing! Over the past two years, weโve run parent-child readalongs (from picture books to middle grade), as well as promoted the love of reading in classrooms across the UK, Tandem-style!

Pairing Pages: Online Literary And Wine Events
Nothing beats winding down an evening with a good book and a glass of wine so we thought weโd play on this idea by pairing wine experts with established and debut authors to launch a series of online events. From red-wine thrillers to pink-fizz summer sizzlers, books set in exotic places paired with wines from that region, or simply identifying accompanying beverages based on themes, topics and passages, our wine experts will find the perfect pairing. Authors are provided with the wines of the evening and together the host and author read, drink and discuss.

Girl, Forgotten: Global Readalong
Girl, Forgotten is thriller author Karin Slaughterโs second installment of her hit Andrea Oliver series. This release presented an ideal opportunity to engage Karinโs fanbase and introduce her to new fans since it could also be read as a standalone title. Tandem crafted a global campaign for Girl, Forgotten that included immersive challenges, staggered publication dates, the promotion of in-person events, and generating creative content through Readalongs across nine territories and five languages.
City on Fire: Global Campaign
Over the last few years, Tandem has expanded our community globally, with the establishment of our @tandemcollectiveglobal Instagram account, and Readalongs in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. But Don Winslowโs City on Fire marked our first ever international, multilingual Readalong. Comprising 11 territories and 7 languages, we conducted Readalongs for the publication of this Mafia-laden, Trojan War retelling with readers all over the world, using engaging creative challenges, daily prompts, exclusive content, and interactions between Bookstagrammers across the globe!
The Maid Gets Readers Cleaning
Weโve got to โcome cleanโ with you. The campaign for Nita Proseโs debut, The Maid, was a master class in using multiple iterations of Readalongs to create engaging content and โgood, clean fun!โ (fair warning: puns abound in this post). Using a variety of Readalong formats and brand partnerships, The Maid flooded social feeds, making a โclean sweepโ with bespoke content that generated intrigue and book purchases. The topics, powerful questions, and emotive throughline are just a few reasons why We Are Not Like Them was such a timely and important release of 2021. Co-written by Christine Pride and Jo Piazza, readers were able to delve into the perspectives of two friends, one black and one white, who find themselves grappling with a tragic event.
